Denison Golf Club

As the 2019 golf season winds down, the team at Denison Golf Club reflects back on happenings around the course over the past few months. The season began as spring warmed-up quickly, introducing the course to many new golfers. June’s weather, however, was certainly not cooperative and the heavy rain brought some challenges. The facility was shut down for six days straight, due to the weather and conditions of the course. Todd Bishop, General Manager at Denison Golf Club notes, “In my twenty plus years as a General Manager, I have never experienced such a shut down.”

Denison Golf ClubLuckily, the course was able to bounce back quickly and able to reschedule all postponed events and came out of June with a truly great season. Todd credits Scott Wiemers, Golf Course Superintendent and his assistant James Galbreath, for the tremendous job they did navigating the course through the excessive rain in June and blinding heat in July. The team maintained excellent golf course conditions throughout the season.Denison Golf Club

The business volume in 2019 was also notably higher, as many days ran at full capacity. The season brought many new events as well as team members to the golf course as well. Daily Todd and his team hear great comments on the golf course conditions with several guests noting Denison Golf Club is the best conditioned golf course in Central Ohio. The team has worked together to maintain high customer service standards and the results are showing with the amount of play the course has seen. Todd gives a nod to the entire operation, saying, “What a great team we have here at DGC, and I am so proud of everyone for coming together and truly working as a well-oiled machine to achieve remarkable results in a busy atmosphere! Well done!”Denison Golf Club

The fall has seen some extraordinary weather, so there are still golfers out on the course enjoying the beautiful colors that are so abundant in Granville this time of year. As the weather cools down more, DGC will focus on the holidays selling gift certificates and merchandise in the shop and online and gearing up with memberships for the upcoming 2020 season. The team hopes to see everyone out on the links next spring!
